Bullet Train Proposed Between Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

TheBullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will be probably executed by Public - Private Partnership with Maharashtra and Gujarat as stakeholders. The bullet rail project is going to be major challenge as apart from engineering challenges. The Bullet Train may take approximately 2 hours to travel 534 km long distance. The high speed train may have capability to run at a maximum speed of 320 KMPH. Bullet train may stop at every 50-100 km as a part of the 534 km long corridor. There are total 11 stations of which 4 in Gujarat and 7 are in Maharashtra. The Ahmedabad corridor will terminate near Sabarmati in Ahmedabad.

Bullet Trains are extremely important to the railway development. Officials will do feasibility study                 and also examine other factors such as land acquisition and building bridges and tunnels where necessary. They will also assess environmental challenges, if any while building the route. The total estimated project cost is Rs. 63,000 crore. The estimated cost per kilometre for the high speed corridor is Rs. 125 crore.

Thehigh speed train which use steel wheels on steel track is designed to travel at more than 320 KMPH. The coaches used in the high speed bullet train will be aerodynamic and it will be supplied by Linke Hofmann Busch in Germany. While there is no information about exact number of coaches per rake available, the approximately figure is around 12, which can carry about 800 travellers. The proposed Mumbai–Ahmedabad route is mainly going to benefit Gujarat because the route covers three of its prime cities – Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. No other Maharashtra’s major city will get benefit of this except Mumbai.

Bullettrain between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will have Wi-Fi facilities for passengers. Travellers can book their food in advance, through Email or SMS. The food will be probably offered by reputed chains, which will have a tie-up with the railways. The seating arrangement will be chair- car setup to increase more capacity for more passengers.

Minimum stopping for traffic, aerodynamic and long curves light trains also permit today’s high speed trains to travel at much faster speed. New innovative technologies applied in train signalling system can easily allow high–speed trains to safely reduce valuable time between train stations and therefore making it lot more efficient.
